Welcome to Metro Vancouver Alliance
Metro Vancouver Alliance is a group of nonpartisan, proactive, everyday citizens dedicated to making the Metro Vancouver area a better place for all to live and thrive. Our members come from faith congregations, youth groups, neighborhood houses, union locals, co-ops, academic departments and community non-profits.
We are a non-profit supported by the dues of our member organizations, individuals and foundations. We are affiliated with the Industrial Areas Foundation, a coalition of like-minded organizations in cities across the United States, the UK, Germany, Canada and Australia.
Over the past six months MVA member organizations have been running a “listening campaign”. In church halls and union offices, living rooms and coffee shops, MVA members have been talking to each other about what matters most to them. On March 19, 2014, MVA will hold a Founding Assembly. Representatives of over 36 civil society institutions from across Vancouver will meet to publicly launch the alliance, with an agenda drawn from the issues identified in our listening campaign.
At Metro Vancouver Alliance, we believe that by working together we have the power to change our communities for the better. We do more than just sign petitions and protest. We take action.
Metro Vancouver Alliance's Founding Assembly is March 19!
On March 19, 2014, representatives of MVA’s 36 member organizations, representing over 200,000 people from across Vancouver, will meet to publicly celebrate the founding of Metro Vancouver Alliance. Event Details and Flyer here.
