SATURDAY APRIL 16th, 2011

MACG has a long history of supporting jobs equity and working families.   Let's turnout for this rally to show solidarity with the working people who are standing up all across the country!  Join us on April 16 for a Portland mobilization where we stand for good jobs and a strong safety net.

With millions of Americans unemployed, underemployed and underpaid, we need a national jobs program to put people back to work.  We need to keep our safety net strong – And we need to support efforts of workers to maintain family wage jobs.

On Saturday, April 16, at noon in Pioneer Square in downtown Portland, hundreds if not thousands of community members from all walks of life will join together to stand for jobs and benefits, not cuts. 

Mahlon Mitchell, Wisconsin State President of the FireFighters will be the main speaker sharing the immediate news from Wisconsin where he has been a major player.  Local  threats against unions will be highlighted also. 

The march and rally will be in the spirit of Wisconsin – family friendly and strong in spirit. Bring your friends and family.  Bring your banners and signs.  Make your voice heard. 

MACG has officially endorsed this rally. Join us!

To join the rally with MACG, please RSVP to office@macg.org.  On the day of the rally, meet Mary Nemmers and other leaders at 11:45 AM at the Umbrella Man Statue on the top south side tier of Pioneer Square to group together and receive your MACG button.
