Health Care Reform 2012: the Plan
January, 2012
MACG’s Health Care Action Team is moving quickly to build on the success of December’s Health Care Reform Assembly and create an organizing plan for the 2012 Oregon Legislative Session.
Already, the group has sent a follow up letter to Assembly Guest Dr. Bruce Goldberg, applauding his public commitments to MACG priorities while reiterating MACG’s position on consumer governance of Community Care Organizations.
The Team plans to:
- Develop a MACG 2012 legislative agenda regarding top health care reform priorities the Exchange and Community Care Organizations.
- Keep MACG members informed on legislative news, sending out health care reform specific news alerts.
- Ask assembly attendees to write to their legislators about MACG priorities for Community Care Organizations.
- Identify key legislators' town hall events, develop questions, and do turnout for MACG attendance.
In addition, the Health Care Action Team continues to partner with Health Care ally organizations on shared Health Care Reform priorities.
And finally, the Team has increased their meeting frequency to biweekly to accommodate Legislative session organizing.
