Welcome St. Andrew Lutheran and St. Paul's UMC!
Two new institutions joined MACG from Clackamas and Washington counties this fall, increasing MACG’s regional power.
St. Andrew Lutheran Associate Pastor, Robyn Hartwig, had this to say about their decision to join MACG:
“Members of St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Beaverton have engaged in service to the larger community for many decades. In spite of our ongoing efforts, some of the issues about which we are most concerned are getting worse rather than better. We have a hunger to "move upstream" and "do justice" to more effectively live out our core values of self-care, neighbor care, community care, earth care and God care.
The relational organizing in which MACG engages has already had a positive impact on St. Andrew. Church council members have started doing one-to-one conversations and our Justice Discernment team has begun to learn more about issues impacting people in our community.
We are excited to join MACG to further develop our leadership capacity so that we can express the commitments of our faith in the public sphere as we partner with other member organizations to promote the common good in Metro Portland.”
Welcome, new institutions!
