Weatherize for Good - Background
The Weatherize for Good program expands on MACG's earlier energy efficiency outreach efforts in Portland's Cully neighborhood.
Improving home energy efficiency through this program means lower energy use, lower climate change emissions, and new living wage local jobs. A win for everybody!
In addition to these triple bottom line reasons, MACG has chosen to continue with energy efficiency outreach within its institutions because of:
- the potential to build relationships, power, and leadership within institutions through house meetings and outreach about the program
- the ability to demonstrate direct self-interest of institutional membership in MACG (member homes made more comfortable and safe, $300 donations to institution)
