August, 2016 -- Over 100 Clackamas County leaders – the majority from faith communities – attended a MACG Housing Assembly on August 3rd at Milwaukie Lutheran Church. The focus of the event was to learn about the county’s growing housing crisis, and one particular strategy for addressing homelessness that could involve congregations.
The MACG housing team worked in coalition this winter to support the successful passage of inclusionary zoning at the legislative session in Salem. As part of this legislation, communities are allowed to define a construction excise tax (CET) on new construction. The Portland City Council will be meeting on Thursday, 6/16 to vote on what percentage this new tax revenue to dedicate to affordable housing. MACG will be advocating for 100%. JOIN US!
Do you want to: … make your institution stronger, more relational, and more action oriented? … fulfill your institution’s mission? … build a base of power to act together for the common good? JOIN US! For a two-hour workshop on how to build and sustain a core team in your institution.
