Clackamas Leaders raise $40,000 for Domestic Violence Survivor Houses!

January, 2012. Clackamas County Leaders Aimee Bruno, King of Kings Lutheran, and Cecil Denney, Lake Oswego UMC, have written two successful grants in support of MACG’s Domestic Violence Survivor House campaign. With such stable funding in place, now all that is left to do to complete the three home pilot project is to secure and open a final house in Multnomah County.

July, 2011. Alma Velazquez is a single mom making a modest income as a school teacher. Before MACG’s Changing the Climate in Cully campaign, Alma knew she had no insulation in her house, and half of the heat was being wasted, blowing out the walls. What’s worse, she and her young daughter experienced headaches when their 30 year old furnace was running.
