New Member! Swedish Cherry Hill Family Medicine Residency
The Sound Alliance is welcoming its newest member, the Swedish Cherry Hill Family Medicine Residency!
Since 1974, the program's mission is to train physicians of diverse backgrounds to provide evidence-based, community oriented primary care and advocate for social justice to improve the health and well-being of vulnerable populations.
Dr. Libby Loft, resident physician at the clinic, talks about the program's decision to join:
"The Swedish Cherry Hill Family Medicine Residency Program has a long history of attracting talented physicians who are dedicated to providing evidence-based, community-oriented primary care.
We have embarked on a mission to renovate our Community Medicine curriculum, and Sound Alliance membership plays a key role in our upgrade!

12 new residents enter our 3 year training program each June, many of whom bring with them diverse prior experiences in social justice and advocacy. Residents train at one of 4 clinic sites; the Swedish Cherry Hill Family Medicine clinic and the Carolyn Downs clinic (both in the Central District), the Seattle Indian Health Board, and SeaMar Community Health Center in South Park.
Our program includes in its mission an imperative to train doctors to recognize the social ills that negatively impact health and to learn to work in partnership with communities to address these issues.
An average work-day in the clinic is a mini-listening campaign, hearing the many struggles facing our patients and so many others in King County and beyond.
By joining the Sound Alliance, we hope to be able to provide residents with direct experience in community organizing that will empower our graduates to be even stronger advocates for community health and justice."
Welcome to the Sound Alliance, Swedish Cherry Hill Family Medicine Residency Program!
