Welcome to Sound Alliance's new Organizer, Dorothy Gibson!  Here is more about her:

As the new organizer for Sound Alliance, let me introduce myself. My name is Dorothy Gibson and I am very pleased to be in this new role and work with all of you for the common good.

I have been a union organizer for many years, most recently with the American Federation of Teachers. I have also been a leader with the Sound Alliance through my church, the Episcopal Church of Western Washington.

My favorite part of organizing, besides getting to work with members, is making connections between and among people and organizations with common interests and to maximize the resources we have to make change.  I believe that working with Sound Alliance is a lot about that.

This is a time of incredible upheaval and change in our country. I believe that engaged and empowered citizens connected to each other are the key to ensuring a healthy and vibrant democracy.  As Cornel West said, "Never forget that justice is what love looks like in public."

If you haven't already, you will be hearing from me! I want to meet with as many people as I can in our member institutions and those who are interested in joining. And please reach out to me if you would like to connect. I look forward to it.
