Carol Prichard is the Lead Organizer of Spokane Alliance since November of 2011. Previously she was an organizer with the The Child First Authority and B.U.I.L.D. in Baltimore MD, where she was organizing with religious and education leaders. Carol has worked on campaigns that have built and developed city-wide leaders and leadership teams, successfully restored $15 million in state funding and an increase of $9 million to school construction funding for Baltimore Schools in the Maryland General Assembly. She has created and built local teams that have acted on issues such as: neighborhood safety, lack of recreation, healthier foods, public housing quality and parent/teacher relations.
Katie Ashmore joined the staff of the Spokane Alliance as a Community Organizer in April 2018. She previously worked for Action in Montgomery (AIM) in Montgomery County, Maryland, an affiliate of the Industrial Areas Foundation, where she organized with congregations, schools, tenants and affordable housing organizations. Katie organized with parents and teachers to create a new free high quality after-school program in high poverty elementary schools, a program that has grown to serve 600 students in five schools with a budget over $1.5 million. She also organized with tenants to hold their property management company accountable for cleaning up a systemic issue with toxic black mold in their apartment units and installing all new windows.
