Welcome to Spokane Alliance!
Spokane Alliance is a group of nonpartisan, proactive, everyday citizens dedicated to making Spokane a better place for all to live and thrive. You’ll find us working for change in churches and classrooms, in living rooms and union halls, in City Hall and in Olympia.
For more than 10 years, Spokane Alliance has worked to improve public transportation, increase job opportunities and green building requirements among other issues. We are a non-profit supported by the dues of our member organizations, individuals and foundations. We are affiliated with the Industrial Areas Foundation, a coalition of like-minded organizations in cities across the United States, the UK, Germany, Canada and Australia.
At Spokane Alliance, we believe that by working together we have the power to change our communities for the better. We do more than just sign petitions and protest. We take action.
The earned Sick and Safe Leave ordinance we worked so hard for over the past three years that’s due to take effect on Jan. 1 is under assault by some in Spokane’s business community. We must once again demonstrate our power and tell the City Council not to delay a needed safety net for another year!
October 2016 -- The Spokane and Sound Alliance recently hosted several successful local assemblies with legislative candidates to move our statewide and local campaigns forward. The October 15 statewide assembly is cancelled.
Join us for a Community Conversation Assembly with County Commissioner and State Legislator candidates! We've done a lot of work with our All in For Washington campaign, educating approximately 1,500 people across Washington state. It's time to show what we've learned and find new allies we can work together with, both locally and statewide.
July, 2016 -- Spokane Alliance leaders gathered together on June 16 for our Annual Meeting, reviewing the past year, celebrating and taking in lessons learned from a fabulous year of growth for the organization.
